Every year in my neighborhood, thousands of dog lovers come together to celebrate and show-off their four-legged friends. There’s a dog trick contest and fashion show, plus live music, food trucks and shopping. It’s a celebration of all things dog in Linden Hills, and it’s SO much fun!
Several weeks ago I spent the day at Horner's Corner in Wisconsin learning about how to make maple syrup. Steve Horner just wrapped up this season's harvest making a record-setting 950 gallons of syrup. It's my favorite syrup. If you live in or near Minneapolis and want to try it yourself, he sells the syrup and seasonal fruit at the Mill City Farmers Market.
I recently filmed Chef Gary Krasner, of Urban Eatery, making his delicious "pieroganoff" as part of a bigger, but still secret, project with Gentleman Forager. He put on quite a show with plenty of flames and fabulous flips. I highly recommend a visit to his restaurant to enjoy this special beef stroganoff/pierogi combination – especially on a cold winter night.
